Jaw-dropping Jewels about Jesus
Rarely does Jesus, God the Son, do exactly what we expect of Him. It seems odd that He so frequently surprises us, given that He never changes. Hebrews 13:8 makes this absolute statement: “Jesus the same yesterday, and today, and forever.” Still, though He is blessedly consistent in His goodness, Jesus does unforeseen things. Even when He does what is expected, He does not always do it in the way that we anticipate. Let us join with Jesus on a jaw-dropping journey. (I will be using this opening paragraph for each of the brief messages in this series. The following material will change daily.)
We are ending the calendar year, but we are not finished with our study of Revelation 8. Verse 13 includes the stark statement of a heavenly denizen: “Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabitants of the earth.” To this point in the Tribulation, judgment (really, justice) has been hard and harsh. From this point forward, it will be even worse. On the brink of 2023, I would hope for each one of you that this next year will be one of blessing and not woe. In fact, I pray for good things for you all. May we be grateful that we have been delivered from the “woe” that we deserve, and may we pray that others will enter into this way of blessing through a personal faith in Jesus Christ.
