Jaw-dropping Jewels about Jesus

Rarely does Jesus, God the Son, do exactly what we expect of Him. It seems odd that He so frequently surprises us, given that He never changes. Hebrews 13:8 makes this absolute statement: “Jesus the same yesterday, and today, and forever.” Still, though He is blessedly consistent in His goodness, Jesus does unforeseen things. Even when He does what is expected, He does not always do it in the way that we anticipate. Let us join with Jesus on a jaw-dropping journey. (I will be using this opening paragraph for each of the brief messages in this series. The following material will change daily.)

Jesus, the winner and our winner, has “washed us from our sins in His own blood” (Revelation 1:5). We have been released from the iron incarceration of the Inferno to live forever in heaven (Matthew 25:46) and to live differently right now as we better understand the Bible (Revelation 1:3). We have been set free to become “kings and priests unto God” (Revelation 1:6), indicating a complete change in our position and a total transformation in our relationship with Jesus; in fact, we now have an everlasting relationship with Him, whereas before our conversion we “were dead in trespasses and sins“ (Ephesians 2:1). A dead man is not a good companion, but God ”hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus” (Ephesians 4:6). The imagery of “kings and priests” assures us that we are not going to be taken back by Satan into his slavery, for whatever our Savior does is “for ever and ever” (Revelation 1:6).
