Jaw-dropping Jewels about Jesus
Rarely does Jesus, God the Son, do exactly what we expect of Him. It seems odd that He so frequently surprises us, given that He never changes. Hebrews 13:8 makes this absolute statement: “Jesus the same yesterday, and today, and forever.” Still, though He is blessedly consistent in His goodness, Jesus does unforeseen things. Even when He does what is expected, He does not always do it in the way that we anticipate. Let us join with Jesus on a jaw-dropping journey. (I will be using this opening paragraph for each of the brief messages in this series. The following material will change daily.)
Jesus has always existed, is the same today, and is our promised end. Regarding our eternal state, Jesus says in Revelation 21:6-7, “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be My son.” He calls Himself “the end,” and He gives without end (the meaning of the word “freely”). Of course He does! He is eternal, and He is love. Thus, His love must be an eternal love. The attributes of our Savior always work out into His actions. He is our end with no end in His giving!
