Jaw-dropping Jewels about Jesus
Rarely does Jesus, God the Son, do exactly what we expect of Him. It seems odd that He so frequently surprises us, given that He never changes. Hebrews 13:8 makes this absolute statement: “Jesus the same yesterday, and today, and forever.” Still, though He is blessedly consistent in His goodness, Jesus does unforeseen things. Even when He does what is expected, He does not always do it in the way that we anticipate. Let us join with Jesus on a jaw-dropping journey. (I will be using this opening paragraph for each of the brief messages in this series. The following material will change daily.)
As we finish our study of the personal nature of Jesus, let us make a couple of helpful applications. First, as we read the Bible, we need to be aware of the personal touch of our Lord. From the creation of Adam and Eve (Genesis 2) to the final redemption of all believers (Revelation 21:5 – “Behold, I make all things new”), we find the kind and considerate touch of God. Second, each day we should look for the ways that Jesus is blessing us, for “His compassions fail not” and “are new every morning” (Lamentations 3:22-23). Surely if we look today we will see and experience the personal touch of Jesus Christ.
