Jaw-dropping Jewels about Jesus

Rarely does Jesus, God the Son, do exactly what we expect of Him. It seems odd that He so frequently surprises us, given that He never changes. Hebrews 13:8 makes this absolute statement: “Jesus the same yesterday, and today, and forever.” Still, though He is blessedly consistent in His goodness, Jesus does unforeseen things. Even when He does what is expected, He does not always do it in the way that we anticipate. Let us join with Jesus on a jaw-dropping journey. (I will be using this opening paragraph for each of the brief messages in this series. The following material will change daily.)

We continue to briefly consider the subject of healing, based upon the end of “pain” in Revelation 21:4 and “the healing of the nations” in Revelation 22:2. Those who are alive at the Lord’s return will certainly need physical healing before entering into the heavenly city, and they “shall all be changed” (I Corinthians 15:51). Everyone needs spiritual healing – there is no way to enter into “the holy city” (Revelation 21:2) without it – and it is provided by our Savior God. We must insist that these healings are eternal. The presence of “the tree of life” that provides “the healing [health-sustaining] of the nations” is real and is also a compelling symbol of the certainty of our ongoing healthy existence in heaven. Even more convincing, of course, is the presence of Jesus, Who is eternal and promises that we will be alongside Him to “reign for ever and ever” (Revelation 22:5). The One Who reveals Himself as YAHWEH-rapha, “the LORD [Who] healeth thee” (Exodus 15:26), will heal us in all ways and for always.
