Jaw-dropping Jewels about Jesus
Rarely does Jesus, God the Son, do exactly what we expect of Him. It seems odd that He so frequently surprises us, given that He never changes. Hebrews 13:8 makes this absolute statement: “Jesus the same yesterday, and today, and forever.” Still, though He is blessedly consistent in His goodness, Jesus does unforeseen things. Even when He does what is expected, He does not always do it in the way that we anticipate. Let us join with Jesus on a jaw-dropping journey. (I will be using this opening paragraph for each of the brief messages in this series. The following material will change daily.)
Jesus loves family, including our families and our church family. Because His love is so expansive and so exceptional, it is logical that this love extends to all believers. In Romans 8:16-17, we are assured that through faith in Jesus we are “children of God, and if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ.” Yes, we are full members of God’s family, and in heaven we will fully understand the remarkable truth that we are “joint-heirs with Christ,” sharing in all of the goodness of His eternal salvation. Revelation 7:9-10 clarifies that this family of God is drawn from “all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues.” Let us look forward to that great gathering around our Lord’s throne, and let us find joy in each member of His family.
