Jaw-dropping Jewels about Jesus

Rarely does Jesus, God the Son, do exactly what we expect of Him. It seems odd that He so frequently surprises us, given that He never changes. Hebrews 13:8 makes this absolute statement: “Jesus the same yesterday, and today, and forever.” Still, though He is blessedly consistent in His goodness, Jesus does unforeseen things. Even when He does what is expected, He does not always do it in the way that we anticipate. Let us join with Jesus on a jaw-dropping journey. (I will be using this opening paragraph for each of the brief messages in this series. The following material will change daily.)

Jesus is light, and the greatest use of this light is to lead us to a saving relationship with Him. Anyone who trusts in Jesus for salvation receives the promise of Revelation 2:28: “I will give him the morning star.” Comparing Scripture to Scripture (as we should always do), we find that this “morning star” is Jesus Himself. Revelation 22:16 records the following: “I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.” If we respond to the light of Jesus by placing our faith in Him, we are His for all eternity, and we will live with Him in heaven. Revelation 21:23 says of heaven, “And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.” May we reflect upon this tremendous truth… and may we reflect the light of our Savior.
