Jaw-dropping Jewels about Jesus

Rarely does Jesus, God the Son, do exactly what we expect of Him. It seems odd that He so frequently surprises us, given that He never changes. Hebrews 13:8 makes this absolute statement: “Jesus the same yesterday, and today, and forever.” Still, though He is blessedly consistent in His goodness, Jesus does unforeseen things. Even when He does what is expected, He does not always do it in the way that we anticipate. Let us join with Jesus on a jaw-dropping journey. (I will be using this opening paragraph for each of the brief messages in this series. The following material will change daily.)

“The Revelation of Jesus Christ” (1:1) also reveals the malicious activity of Satan and demons. Revelation 9 is a specific statement of their evil actions during the Tribulation period. Today, this demonic work is usually quite subtle, especially when the attacks are against the Church and Christians. James 3:13-18 warns us against worldly ideas: “This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish” (verse 15). It is not merely that this “wisdom” is unwise and just plain wrong; it is motivated and driven by Satanic forces. Why, for example, do some today assert (not argue) that there are tens of genders? Recently, I heard one leftist claim that there are 73 genders! 74 and up are probably offended – or even triggered! What intelligent individual could peddle such drivel? Clearly, this bizarre propaganda is Satanic. In Genesis 1:27, we read, “So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them.” To deny basic biological fact is “earthly, sensual, devilish.” This assault on the truth is an assault on God Himself. As Christians, we have God’s wisdom readily available to us: “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, [Who] giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him” (James 1:5). Satan’s attempts to make Christians unwise cannot succeed if we will just pray for God’s insight and direction. As God’s people, we can and should see life as it really is; we are the ones who have a clear, logical outlook on all things.
