Jaw-dropping Jewels about Jesus

Rarely does Jesus, God the Son, do exactly what we expect of Him. It seems odd that He so frequently surprises us, given that He never changes. Hebrews 13:8 makes this absolute statement: “Jesus the same yesterday, and today, and forever.” Still, though He is blessedly consistent in His goodness, Jesus does unforeseen things. Even when He does what is expected, He does not always do it in the way that we anticipate. Let us join with Jesus on a jaw-dropping journey. (I will be using this opening paragraph for each of the brief messages in this series. The following material will change daily.)

What will Jesus be doing today? While we do not have a detailed agenda given to us each morning, we do know that “now is the day of salvation” (II Corinthians 6:2). Yes, today is “the day of salvation.” To postpone a decision to trust in Jesus for eternal life is to fritter away what might be the last day. Sadly, today will be the final one for thousands in this world. If you have never asked Jesus to save you, this moment is a God-given gift to you, a time in which you have the opportunity to respond to Jesus and His finished work of salvation. He died on the Cross for our sins and rose the third day from the tomb as He had promised in order to grant life everlasting. Simply ask Him for His salvation, and He will gladly grant it and enfold you in His “everlasting arms” (Deuteronomy 33:27). May each one of us be certain that our faith is solely and squarely in Jesus, and may we care deeply about the salvation of others.
